Turn off AutoPlay on Windows

On Windows, when you insert an USB or a CD/DVD into your computer, they are usually opened automatically. So the computer maybe infected autorun virus. To avoid that, you should turn off AutoPlay function.

Turn off AutoPlay on Windows XP: updating...
Turn off AutoPlay on Windows 7:

Click Start > go to Control panel. Then click AutoPlay.
On AutoPlay function: Uncheck Use AutoPlay for all media and devices option. Then click Save.

Turn off AutoPlay on Windows 8:

Right click on Start button > choose Control panel. Then click AutoPlay.
Similar to Windows 7, on AutoPlay function: Uncheck Use AutoPlay for all media and devices option. Then click Save.
